Gedik Educatin Foundation (GEF) was established by Gedik Holding in 1994 with the aim of contributing to the education and development of welding technology in Turkey.
GEF has assumed all kinds of activities and initiatives in this area as a social responsibility and has carried out various projects with the Ministry of Education, Institutions of Higher Education and private sector companies since it was founded.
In addition, a number of projects have been realized with the support of GEF, such as building of schools, dormitories, vocational training centers and educational institutions providing services for disabled children.
The Foundation has received Certificate of Appreciation from various institutions and organizations for the various aid it has provided. Among these are the Certificate of Appreciation from the Ministry of Education and the Gratitude Certificate issued by the Presidency on 1999.
Since 1995, “Welder Development Seminars” are organized with the contributions of GEF and companies owned by foundation founders.
The Foundation, which provides training to theoretical and practical welding technologies to private sector employees, provided free training to 32,500 people between 1994-2009.
Since 2008 GEF is a responsible member of Turkey in IIW (International Institute of Welding), headquartered in Paris. International diploma and certificate programs are also organized within Foundation in connection with IIW since 2009.
