The Gedik Education Foundation organized the Welded Metal Sculpture Competition to support the creativity of young artists and bring a contemporary perspective to the art of metal welding. The competition, which brought together university students from all over Turkey, was held with an exhibition and award ceremony.
The Gedik Education Foundation, which is frequently mentioned for its educational and social responsibility activities in Turkey, this time brought young talents together with art. The Foundation organized the Welded Metal Sculpture Competition specifically for university students. The event, held at Istanbul Gedik University Vocational School, concluded with an exhibition and an awards ceremony.
Young People from All Over Turkey Participated in the Competition
Open to associate degree, undergraduate, and graduate students studying at universities across Turkey, the competition aimed to transform metal into an artistic medium using welding techniques. The organization encouraged young people to actively participate in the production process while bringing contemporary and original approaches to metal sculpture art.
The theme of the competition was “Unity.” The welding of different metal pieces together presented a powerful narrative symbolizing solidarity, the power of coexistence, and a culture of collaborative production. The resulting works reflected both the technical and conceptual dimensions of the theme.
Finalists selected by a jury of expert academics and artists completed their works according to a specified schedule. The exhibited works showcased the creativity and technical proficiency of young artists.
The award ceremony held at the end of the competition supported young talents, while the Gedik Education Foundation provided an inspiring platform for young people with its approach that brings art and education together.
