New Works Willl Be Produced With us With The Gedik Philharmonic Orchestra
He has contributed nearly a hundred works to the musical life and literature of our country with his commissions to date. Gedik Art Started to Contribute to Porducions Beyond the Bordersof the Country
With a great responsibility, Gedik Sanat contributes to the discovery of our national musical language and brings works produced outside our borders to art lovers in our country. In this direction, the orchestra plans to perform the Istanbul premieres of Croatian composer Boris Papandopulo's Sinfonietta and Azeri composer Alizadeh's Deyishma under the direction of Dubrovnik Philharmonic Orchestra Music Director Slobodan Begic.
Listist Preferences Are As Wide Range As Concert Programs
As Cem Mansur puts it, the Gedik Philharmonic Orchestra touches nearly 200 years of music history in each of its concerts, including a new commissioned work, a 20th century work and a work from the classical period. This season, British viola player Charlie Howells will join these carefully selected programs with his interpretation of Emre Şener's World Premiere, while Duo Blanc et Noir will perform the Istanbul Premiere of Cem Esen's four-hand piano work. Violinist Pelin Halkacı Akın, who stands out as an instructor at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University and with her important works on Turkish composers in her field, will interpret the Mendelsshon double concerto with pianist Julia Kerimova. Onur Özkaya will interpret the two Double Bass Concertos on the program in January, while Semplice Quartet, which we remember from Gedik Sanat's Mosaic project, will be the soloist of Uğurcan Öztekin's new work in February. The season will close with Opera Soprano Otilia İpek's Samuel Barber “Knoxville, Summer of 1915”.
Third Piano Festival At The University
The Piano Festival, which has brought golden documents to the piano archive of our country at the Kartal Campus of Istanbul Gedik University, has witnessed unforgettable performances while recording 22 artists in the previous two festivals. A pianist will contribute to the festival, which is being organized for the third time this season, and the interpretations of 8 artists will be archived. This year Orçun Orçunsel with his interpretation of F.Liszt, Can Saraç with his interpretation of Chopin, Cem Esen with his own works, Alaz İkiz with his interpretation of Skrybin, Burak Çebi with his interpretation of F.Schubert, KenanTatlıcı with his interpretation of Debussy, M.Ravel Can Erkekli with his interpretation and Can Çakmur with his interpretation of Mozart.
Workshops With Young People
Gedik Art, which organizes art and awareness workshops for university students, continues to showcase its production of Gogol's The Seagull, directed by Director and Actor Mehmetcan Mincinozlu, in collaboration with the Istanbul Gedik University Theatre Club from last season. At the same time, they are expanding their repertoire with new theater workshops. Additionally, by organizing various workshops with the Music Club, Literature Club, and Psychology Club, they provide opportunities for young people to engage with art.
